The Foreclosure Prevention Center

Community HousingWorks’ Foreclosure Prevention Center (FPC) offers a full range of counseling services to assist families to avoid foreclosure and sustain their homeownership. We are an exemplary charted member of NeighborWorks® America and we have highly skilled counselors ready to work with families to help find options to resolve their situation. We can help guide you to achieve the dream of sustaining homeownership!

Step 1: Gather Your Documentation

Our Mortgage Assessors will need for you to bring as many documents that you have that is related to your mortgage statements, lender correspondences, proof of income and other documents that may be applicable to your special situation. To better prepare yourself for the next step, download the entire checklist to get yourself ready for a comprehensive mortgage analysis at your confidential and specific session. Come Prepared --I am Motivated to keep my HOME!

If you would like to speed up the intake process, download all the forms and fill them out ahead of time for your pre-determined 1:1 session. All forms must be filled out completely and legibily once you arrive to your session and before you meet with your Mortgage Assessor. The completed forms needed include: our intake packet, a borrower's authorization form and a privacy consent form.

Step 2: Set Up A 1:1 Session

This 1.5-2 hour meeting with one of our highly skilled Foreclosure Prevention Counselors will begin the process to evaluate if your particular situation is negotiable with your lender. Counseling sessions are offered 30-40 times a week in either English, Spanish or Farsi at our City Heights location. No Walk-Ins allowed, RSVP only. Call 619-282-6647 x5468 to RSVP.
