This 8-hour, HUD-certified class for first-time homebuyers will qualify you for reduced rates with some lenders, for Community HousingWorks down payment loans and counseling, and for a down payment deferred loan from CalHFA. In English and Spanish, the class answers common homebuyer questions such as:
- What price home can I afford?
- How can I qualify for a loan?
- How do I fix my credit?
- What exactly is the home-buying process?
- How do I get the most out of my Real Estate Agent and title and escrow company?
- How can I get help with downpayment and closing costs?
- What kind of insurance will I need?
- What do I need to know about home maintenance?
The classes are held on Saturdays from 9:00am-5:00pm. A light breakfast and lunch are provided.
