Community HousingWorks primarily serves low- to moderate-income individuals and families across all of San Diego County. We own and operate 25 affordable rental complexes, serving over 1,300 families. Our HomeOwnership Center also assists low- to moderate-income individuals looking to purchase their first home in San Diego County.
Residents in our rental complexes usually have incomes at under half the Countywide typical income/Area Median Income (AMI) - $69,000 for a family of four in 2006. Typical resident jobs are receptionists; maintenance technicians; produce stockers; preschool teachers; insurance/bank representatives and office managers.
CHW also serves special needs populations in several of our developments including farm workers, homeless families, victims of domestic violence, senior citizens, the developmentally disabled, and individuals with HIV/AIDS.
